Jessica Simpson sings for First Lady Michelle Obama

They may have a difference of political opinion, but Jessica Simpson and the First Lady Michelle Obama let music unite them last night. The two women smiled and shared a hug as Jessica took to the stage to sing God Bless America at a Rockies versus Mets baseball game held to entertain military families.
The 30-year-old pop singer, who supported George W. Bush's presidential campaign in 2004, was joined onstage by the Democratic First Lady, and Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden at Denver's Coors Field before the game.

Jessica is understood to have been hand-picked by President Barack Obama's wife, despite the apparent political divide.

Michelle and Jill also used last night's event to kick off their new Joining Forces initiative, which aspires to help soldiers and their loved ones deal with long separations.

The trio of women all wore trouser, top and jacket combinations for the chilly Colorado evening.

Before the show, Jessica tweeted that she was thrilled to be a part of the procession. It's such an honor to join First Lady Michelle Obama as she kicks off her new initiative in support of our military & their families,' she wrote.
Jessica has attracted controversy in the past for her political stances. The singer who endorsed George W. Bush for president in 2004, was later said to have snubbed him by cancelling an appearance at a 2006 Republican fundraiser in Washington, D.C.

But her manager father Joe Simpson leaped to her defence, saying that even though he and Jessica are 'big supporters' of the president, who had invited them, they felt it was inappropriate to attend a political fundraiser.

Meanwhile, Jessica is fast becoming more well-known for her clothing empire than her musical talents. She has unwittingly become a mega brand in the fashion world with her empire projected to make history this year by becoming the first every celebrity fashion line earn one billion dollars in annual sales.

Her clothing line raked in an astonishing $750 million dollars in sales last year, making it the top selling celebrity clothing empire.
That would put her in the same league as American fashion titans Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein,

Vera Wang and Donna Karan so her presence at fashion week is not unwarranted.

She told New York magazine: 'I never thought I'd be some fashion mogul'. When asked why her brand is so successful, she replied: 'When it comes to other celebrity brands, I think a lot of people do a great job, but it can't be all about them.

'Everybody doesn't want to just look like the celebrity, because they can't. They just want one element of that style.'

She also told the magazine she plans to launch new ready-to-wear and career separates lines. The former reality star is now inspiring other television celebrities like Jersey Shore's Snookie who says she wants to be just like Jessica.

'What I'd like is to turn out like Jessica Simpson', Snookie said. 'She makes millions. I'm trying to build an empire, because after this I can't get a normal job. I mean, how do I go and sit behind a desk?'

Jessica is currently engaged to former NFL football player Eric Johnson. The singer was previously married to Nick Lachey for just under four years with the couple divorcing in 2006.

Jessica Simpson `honoured` by invite to sing for the troops

Jessica Simpson feels 'honoured' to have been invited to sing for the troops.

The star has been personally asked to perform at a special awareness-raising baseball game by US President Barack Obama's wife Michelle.
The First Lady requested that Simpson sing at the game in Denver, Colorado on Wednesday, April 13, as part of her initiative to recognise American service members.

Simpson told Usmagazine.com: '(The First Lady) asked me to sing for the troops. That's a huge honour for me. Just to be there and show my support and say thank you.'

Jessica Simpson Not Losing Weight for Wedding

Just in time for her wedding, Jessica Simpson has finally found a shape that she's happy with. Her physique has yo-yo'd from sexy and slender for her 2005 role in Dukes of Hazard to a more voluptuous look, for which she was scrutinized for, when she sang at a Florida chili cook-off in 2009
Simpson is engaged to former NFL defensive back Eric Johnson, and Simpson's pre-wedding bliss has made her more confident about her body image.

"For most people, falling in love brings positive feelings and moods. The positive cascade of hormones and sense of well-being that accompanies falling in love can take the attention away from food and concern about one's body and appearance," said body image expert Sarah Maria."Being with someone who loves and appreciates you no matter how you look can go very far in helping you develop a positive relationship with your own body."

It seems Simpson's love bug has caused her to have the perfect balance between being Hollywood thin and too curvy.

"The emptiness disappears, and so does our impulse to eat comfort foods. When we fall in love, we find ourselves more self-accepting. We feel a sense of satisfaction through the loving eyes of another that allows us to treat ourselves, and our bodies, with more love and respect," said James E. Walton, a Los Angeles psychologist. "This releases us from the pains of yo-yo dieting which is so disrespectful and damaging to the body. When we are truly in love, we may actually perceive ourselves as being loveable and worthy of love."

However, Ashley Koff, the featured dietician on the CW's Shedding for the Wedding, has her concerns for the bride-to-be. She said that celebrities are not that different than everyday Americans. They, too, have problems keeping off the weight once they settle down.

"Being in a relationship can be the best for making a healthy lifestyle or can also derail us," she said. If one starts bringing in junk food or says 'let's stay in bed' versus going out to exercise that can work against you both. As a member of a couple, you bear responsibility for yourself but also for what you enable your partner."

The couple has not yet set a date, and recent rumors say they might elope.

"We've both been married before. We're enjoying our commitment to each other. We want to take our time," Simpson recently said in a USA Today article.

Either way, it seems that Simpson is finally comfortable in her own skin, and I for one think it makes her look that much better.

Jessica Simpson Still 'Jumbling' Wedding Dates

ET was there as Jessica Simpson appeared with First Lady Michelle Obama at an event for military families and revealed that she just started to consider possible wedding dates a few days ago.

The singer -- who performed an emotional rendition of "God Bless America" for about 250 military families at Coors Field in Denver -- said she is still trying to nail down a date for her wedding to her fiancé, former NFL football player Eric Johnson.

Jessica Simpson Exploits Her Natural Endowments To Get Her Way

Jessica Simpson uses her womanly wiles to get out of tricky situations.

She explained, "I was well-endowed when I was in sixth grade. There's no way to hide them, as much as you want to bandage your boobs down...
"Now I can make my way in and out of parking tickets: show the girls and give a wink!"

Jessica is one of the rumored stars to fill one of Simon Cowell's "X Factor" judging spots. Along with Simon, Antonio 'L.A.' Reid has been confirmed as a judge. Rumors have swirled over who will take the remaining spots.

'We might elope,' reveals Jessica Simpson as she opens up about marriage

She had a big white wedding the first time around, but Jessica Simpson is considering a very different approach to her second nuptials.

The singer and fashion designer, who is engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson, has revealed she open to the option of a low-key and spontaneous affair.
We've both been married before,' the 30-year-old tells Women's Wear Daily.

'We're enjoying our commitment to each other. We want to take our time.'

She adds: 'We might elope if it gets to that point.'

Her mother Tina, who was present during the interview, was quick to interject, saying: 'But not without telling your mom!'

Simpson has previously hinted that she intends to be married by this Christmas, but is yet to set a date.

Simpson, whose clothing empire is projected to become the first ever celebrity fashion line to earn one billion dollars in annual sales this year, is keen to have a hand in the design of her dress.

'I will be part of designing my own wedding gown,' she says.

The Texas native launched her Jessica Simpson Collection in 2007 and her mother is the co-creative director.

However, she has no plans to mix business with pleasure in her romantic relationship.

Jessica Simpson plans to design her own wedding dress

Jessica Simpson isn't in any rush to walk down the aisle again. She's enjoying her engagement to fiance Eric Johnson.

"No date has been set yet. We've both been married before. We're enjoying our commitment to each other. We want to take our time," Simpson tells WWD. Nor has she determined who will design The Dress. "I will be part of designing my own wedding gown. We might elope if it gets to that point."
But she may have to plan the nuptials around a new job. Simpson's name has come up as a possible judge on Simon Cowell's new X Factor show. "They have definitely talked to me about X Factor, " Simpson says. "I think it would be a lot of fun. It's definitely my life."

Jessica Simpson to judge US X Factor?

Actress Jessica Simpson says she is in talks to join the judges' panel on the US version of 'The X Factor' .

"They have definitely talked to me about 'X Factor'. I think it would be a lot of fun. It's definitely my life. To be a mentor for up and coming artists is right up my alley. I would have loved to have a mentor. I love watching people's dreams come true," Simpson told WWD.

Jessica Simpson: Full-Figured and Finally Happy?

When it comes to Jessica Simpson, “weight” is one of her top associated Google search terms.

The singer’s fluctuating figure has long been fodder for tabloid headlines. She caused a sensation in 2005 when she slimmed down to squeeze into those itty-bitty Daisy Duke’s for “Dukes of Hazzard.” But in 2009, she was chastised for her rounder physique while performing at a chili cook-off in Florida.
But in spite of all the (literal) ups and downs, it finally seems as though the 30-year-old has settled into her fuller frame, and embraced her female curves as she prepares to tie-the-knot with ex NFL player, Eric Johnson.

And on a professional level, Simpson is finally soaring.

While her music may not be chart-topping the way it was several years ago, the star is still in the studio and still releasing albums, and reportedly in talks to exercise her mentoring muscles as a judge on Simon Cowell’s highly-anticipated “X Factor.”

But Simpson’s biggest success stems from her self-titled fashion empire, which is expected to hit $1 billion in sales next year.

So do Simpson's love and career success go hand in hand with her relaxed fit jeans?

“For most people, falling in love brings positive feelings and moods. The positive cascade of hormones and sense of well-being that accompanies falling in love can take the attention away from food and concern about one’s body and appearance,” body image expert Sarah Maria told FOX411’s Pop Tarts. “Being with someone who loves and appreciates you no matter how you look can go very far in helping you develop a positive relationship with your own body.”

Furthermore, the inclination to overindulge often diminishes when one finds that special somebody.

“The emptiness disappears, and so does our impulse to eat comfort foods. When we fall in love, we find ourselves more self-accepting. We feel a sense of satisfaction through the loving eyes of another that allows us to treat ourselves, and our bodies, with more love and respect,” explained Los Angeles-based psychologist, Dr. James E. Walton. “This releases us from the pains of yo-yo dieting which is so disrespectful and damaging to the body. When we are truly in love, we may actually perceive ourselves as being loveable and worthy of love."

However, the euphoria of falling in love can have an unhealthy side too when it comes to being comfortable in your own skin.

Celebrity dietitian Ashley Koff, R.D., who was the featured dietician for the CW’s “Shedding for the Wedding,” warns that celebrities, just like average Americans, need to take action not to get too comfortable and let those “love handles” get out-of-hand.

“Being in a relationship can be the best for making a healthy lifestyle or can also derail us. If one starts bringing in junk food or says ‘let’s stay in bed’ versus going out to exercise that can work against you both. As a member of a couple, you bear responsibility for yourself but also for what you enable your partner,” Koff said. “Healthy eating requires ongoing attention and effort daily. Now is the time to lay the foundation for your new life, together.”

And luckily for Simpson, her man has that covered and is known for his vegan lifestyle and nutritious diet. But even before Johnson entered Jessica’s picture, she wasn’t buying into her body criticism and letting it weigh her down, proving that success and self-satisfaction is first and foremost, an inside job,

“You really have to know who you are before you can truly fall in love and give your all, and I don’t think a man can define you. You have to own that,” Simpson told us last year. “So if you’re ever with anyone who says you should change something about yourself then they should never fall in love with you in the first place.”

Jessica Simpson undertakes vegan diet- thankfully she can still eat diet cakes!

Jessica Simpson undertakes vegan diet- but she can still treat herself with diet cakes and free from cakes- such as vegan cakes, egg free cake and sugar free cakes.

All American pop star-come actress Jessica Simpson has recently switched her traditional Texan diet to a vegan diet, in a bid to get healthy and in shape for her upcoming wedding.

The 30 year old was snapped by the paparazzi going into a vegan restaurant in New York accompanied by her fiancé and her mum.
While Jess has cut all meat and animal products from her diet to reduce her calorie intake, she can still indulge occasionally thanks to specialist diet cakes such as vegan cakes- which do no include any eggs or milk.

Both Jessica and Eric looked relaxed in each others company while visiting the specialist restaurant. Jessica first tried the vegan diet more than a year ago whilst she was filming her television series, ‘The price of beauty’. She admitted that in addition to removing meat and animal products from her diet she was drinking specialist herbal teas which she said ‘shocked’ her body.

Shortly after she stopped filming she met Eric who undertook a vegan diet shortly after he retired from playing professional sport.

Jessica told the audience when she appeared on chat show ‘Late night with Jimmy Fallon’ that the couple enjoyed a vegan thanksgiving dinner last year, replacing their traditional turkey for a tofuturkey.

In addition to her new healthy diet, Jessica is also said to be working out four times per week with her personal trainer who also whipped the likes of Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow into shape. However, Jess who is renowned for her curves is said to be shunning the super skinny trend and just wants to be in good shape for her wedding day.

Jessica Simpson Confirms She’s Been Approached for ‘X Factor’

Jessica Simpson has confirmed Internet reports that she has been approached for a judging position on Simon Cowell’s upcoming Fox singing competition show The X Factor.

“They have definitely talked to me about X Factor,” she tells Women’s Wear Daily. “I think it would be a lot of fun. It’s definitely my life. To be a mentor for up-and-coming artists is right up my alley. I would have loved to have a mentor. I love watching people’s dreams come true.”
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Cowell has snapped up L.A. Reid, former chairman of Island Def Jam, as his first judge. “Even though a lot of people won't know who he is, he is actually a fascinating guy and I think a lot of people will like the fact that they're discovering him on the show,” Cowell recently told the Huffington Post of Reid.

As for casting the other judges – former American Idol judge Paula Abdul and George Michael have all been rumored additions — Cowell said it’s been “an interesting process.”

At the end of the day, Cowell told HP, “you trust your gut feeling to put together a panel that's going to work, and the most important thing is, people will decide, once they watch the show, whether we've made the right decision or the wrong decision.”

The other judges are expected to be announced within the next few weeks. The X Factor debuts on Fox in September.

Jessica Simpson Still Hoping for X-Factor Job

Jessica Simpson is really hoping Simon Cowell is going to ask her to be a judge on the US version of X-Factor, because she thinks she'll be amazing at it.

Jessica is just one of the many stars still being considered for the panel when the show launches, but Jess thinks she's the only one that can make it a lot of fun.

She told website WWD : “They have definitely talked to me about ‘X Factor’. I think it would be a lot of fun. It’s definitely my life. To be a mentor for up-and-coming artists is right up my alley. I would have loved to have a mentor. I love watching people’s dreams come true.”
Sure, Jessica's singing career isn't exactly doing great, but the girl knows a thing or two about business. Oh wait. Okay, so maybe her dad Joe can sit on a small stool next to her and whisper what to say in her ear. Just a thought.
