A group of singing soldiers say they were disappointed to learn that Joe Simpson and his team of producers had cut them from a planned performance on Jessica Simpson’s PBS holiday special.

4Troops, a musical quartet made up of four former army soldiers, told “Fox and Friends” that they were set to perform “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” with Simpson on an October 14 taping before they were told that their song performance had been cut.“We had planned to do our song ‘I’ll Be Home for Christmas’ with her on stage, we flew our families in for the event and were very excited, [we were] fans of Jessica’s,” singer Meredith Melcher said. “And then, closer to midnight, after a couple hours of waiting, we found out that our initial song had been cut.”

Producers then asked the group if they wanted to sing a new song they had never rehearsed, to which the group declined because they had no chance to prepare.

“They suggested we do a new song, but that was one we had never rehearsed before and in the army we sorta have a thing where you train as you fight and we didn’t really feel prepared to do that so we opted out of that,” Melcher added.

Speaking of love, since divorcing Nick Lachey in 2006, Simpson has had quite the weird run, from her "sexual napalm"-producing liaison with John Mayer to her ill-fated relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, which culminated in a breakup right before her 29th birthday.

But now the 30-year-old is getting along just fine with retired NFL player Eric Johnson (and the Cowboys are 1-5).

Simpson auditioned eight Truman Sailors and Marines for a chance to perform a duet with her at New York's Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting in November, according to a report on the Navy's website. The winner will also sing with Simpson on her upcoming Christmas album. The famous blonde spent her time aboard the ship signing autographs and enjoying meals with the crew.

"I've been on many USO trips," she said, according to a United States Navy report, "and I always enjoy sitting and talking with service members.

To be on board Truman has been a blessing. I've met so many amazing people, and everybody has been so welcoming and made me feel like I'm at home. I can't express enough how much I appreciate the sacrifices you make for our country."

Jessica Simpson's dream of duetting with Andrea Bocelli for her upcoming Christmas album has been dashed - the opera singer will not be part of the compilation due to his busy schedule.

The pop star and actress was said to have recruited the classical musician, as well as pal Willie Nelson, for her festive release.

But Bocelli's representative has moved swiftly to deny the report, revealing the star was never slated to record with Simpson.

The rep tells E! Online, "We were indeed approached by her management a while ago, but Mr Bocelli's current recording and performing schedule does not allow him to add on new engagements. "We told Jessica's management yesterday that the duet cannot happen. But we all wish her great success with the Christmas album."

Aug 10th 2010 - Jessica Simpson may soon be eating her words. Though the 30-year-old singer tells Lucky she is finally at "peace" with her fuller figure and curves, the magazine's photos of its September cover girl have apparently been heavily airbrushed to make her appear magically slim again.

"We all obsess over looking like the perfect Barbie type, and that's not always what's beautiful," the pop star says. "It's about making peace with yourself."

Is it? Then why does the magazine cover and, to a much greater extent, the inside photo spread feature the star looking exactly like the perfect Barbie type? Could it be a case of "Do as I say, not as (Lucky and) I do"?

The Conde Nast magazine didn't respond to a request for comment from PopEater. But its seemingly photoshopped pictures have created a mini-uproar in the blogosphere.

Some Lucky-bashers point to the singer's disproportionate head and body in the shots. Others remind us of pictures snapped only a few weeks ago showing a still-rounder-looking Jessica, who has noticeably gained weight -- and taken heat for it -- in recent months.

"While I appreciate the comments [Jessica Simpson] makes about loving and accepting her body, I would find them more believable if she did not allow the magazine to airbrush her until her body looks nothing like the 'real' Jessica," writes one Lucky reader. "These are the ways we could actually induce change rather than just giving it lip service. The body in these pictures is NOT the body we see in candid shots. I doubt it could hold up the head on top of it in real life. Come on Jessica!! Take a REAL stand!"

	The magazine is also accused of being "insulting," "sickening" and deceptive in comments posted on its website. "Can we get real here?" fumes a reader. "Jessica Simpson has a beautiful body -- but it looks nothing like this!! She is healthy and has curves -- it is nothing to be ashamed of and airbrushed away. I'm disgusted."

The Simpson spread is timed to publicize the new VH1 series she filmed called 'The Price of Beauty,' for which she traveled the world to witness crazy things women do to look pretty.

The blurb with the photos says she has undergone a change in her own style and fine-tuned her ideas about what is beautiful "by coming to terms with some serious body issues over the course of the last year."

"She stopped fighting her hourglass silhouette," writes Lucky.

And the star echoes those sentiments in interviews she's dosince she's returned from shooting, telling Us Weekly that stressing out about weight "is just a woman thing -- unless you're the women we don't like that are supermodels that are just naturally fantastic."

"I'm a curvy girl," Simpson said. "I have to always be conscious of everything I'm putting into my body."

Us Weekly reports, to make the show...more interesting...it will focus on Simpson giving people makeovers, like she did on the season finale episode.
Jessica showed us some of her "price of beauty" at the grand opening of the Casino Club at The Greenbrier in West Sulfur Springs, West Virginia on Friday, June 2nd. You can tell Jessica has gained a bit of weight and makeup since the filming of her show. Seriously, what an unflattering dress. Maybe you shouldn't be giving the make-overs next season, Jess.

VH1 says the new show will air in 2011. Simpson claimed she found her life's calling during taping of The Price of Beauty, "I'm not saying I'm changing the world...But...to be able to sit with my dad and [create] Price of Beauty... It's similar to missionary work. It was what I was called to do and called to be."

Hold up, she thinks her reality show can be compared to missionary work? Missionary work involves some heavier stuff than working on how you can feel beautiful. Jessica, try building a house for a family in New Orleans or spend some time with Haitian children then think about the comment you made.
